Sarah and I were out running errands the other morning while Samantha was at school. Thankfully, I was holding Sarah while walking in a parking lot when all of a sudden a car whizzed around the corner traveling at a very high rate of speed. I was a little irate at the speeding car, so I yelled at the car, "Slow down you turkey!"Wednesday, January 11, 2012

Oh The Funny Things Kids Will Say
Samantha and Sarah were recently playing "store". This means the girls "buy" things and exchange plastic coins to "pay" for the items.Samantha walked over to Sarah to "wait" on Sarah and ring her up at the register, and the conversation went a little something like this:
Samantha: "Hello Ma'am! How are you today? Can I help you?"
Sarah: "I'm not a man! I'm a girl!"

Five Things Friday
Five Things That Happened This Past Week That Made Me Smile:
- I started my training for my AWBC that will be this coming May. This past Fall, Jeremy set up the treadmill downstairs in the basement so I have my own area. It's great! So when I get home from work at night, I just throw my sneakers and sweats on and grab the iPad (gotta LOVE streaming Netflix). Watching episodes of "Say Yes to the Dress" or "Law & Order" make the 2 mile walk go by so much faster.
- Samantha started back up at school this past week. She is so excited to be back. It's great to know that she enjoys going!
- Last night, Jeremy and I were able to have another date night together. This week, we made it really exciting and went to multiple locations: first stop was a hot chocolate at Panera Bread, then off to CVS to buy cough medicine for Samantha, and the last stop was home to watch a movie.
- I was also able to have the night off from work last night. It's just nice to have that little break during the week to have dinner with the family.
- Earlier this past week, Jeremy made me a mix CD. (I know, very high school right?) It's probably one of the best mix cd's that I've ever made. Adele, Lady Antebellum, Snow Patrol and The Script. LOVE it!

Dear Sarah (37 Month Update)
Dear Sarah,
Well, here we are one full month after your 3rd Birthday. You continue to amaze Daddy (Nanny too) and I. We're so proud of you.
First off, you are doing an AMAZING job at waking up with a dry pull up in the morning. In fact, you went a whole 2 weeks straight! You've gotten the hang of waking up when you need to go potty. The downside is waking Mommy up at 2:00 am, but if we can get you out of Pull-ups then Mommy will pull an all nighter if she has to to make that happen! So, good job for going potty at all hours of the night! Your piggy bank is filling up quickly with all the "dry Pull-up reward money".
Mommy has been enjoying one on one time with you for special Mommy dates. It was a real treat last week to have Daddy home on vacation from work. We all got to do special things together.
You continue to get excited about picking up Samantha at pre-school. In fact, you've shown so much excitement, that Daddy and I are toying with the idea of sending you to a short program for pre-school for this Fall. You know you're letters, and your colors and your shapes. So, we'll see what happenes with that.
You are still so young and cannot appreciate all the smiles and the joy that you bring to everyone...especially Mommy and Daddy. You smile and say "hi" to complete strangers on the street (which we'll have to discuss sometime soon, but that's another letter). You give amazing BIG hugs. You're so innocent and so genuine, I hope that never changes.
We love you! Always remember that.
Love you always,
Mommy & Daddy
Here are some photos of you between January 2009 and January 2012!

Dear Samantha (4 1/2 Year Update)
Dear Samantha,
Today is January 3, 2012 which means it's your "half birthday". How is it that 6 months ago, we were sitting in our living room opening your birthday presents in shorts. Just seems like yesterday.
You've been doing a great job at knowing the difference between playtime with Mommy, or Daddy or Nanny and playing by yourself. Daddy and I are so happy that you enjoy the Thomas the Tank Engine table top that we bought for you for Christmas. Mommy has been trying hard to have one on one dates with you. I really enjoy spending separate times with you and Sarah.
We love the fact that you also keep yourself entertained with cross word puzzles. (The circle the word kind). When we went to Maine this past weekend, you spent a lot of the time in the car keeping busy with that.
We're so proud of you. Daddy and I know how hard it is to listen to us. We certainly have our bad days with temper tantrums and we do have good days. Keep up the good work in putting the effort in. Sometimes Mommy feels like the days of arguments are far and few between.
We love you Sam. Always know that. We know that one day you're going to give us the "typical" teen age attitude and you're going to feel that you don't need Daddy and I so you can gain independence. I hope you can look back one day on these blog entries and just know how much you were loved and are loved right now.
Love always to the bottom of our hearts,
Mommy & Daddy

B - I - N - G - O!
Last week, Sarah and Mommy had a one on one date together. We decided to go play Bingo! Sarah did a fantastic job and won all but 1 game. We did "Shape Bingo" and "Animal Sounds Bingo" and finished up with "Farmyard Bingo".
Sarah's Great-Grandmother's in Florida and in Maine would be very proud to know that she is a champion Bingo player!
