Five Things Friday

Five Things That Have Made Me Smile In the Last Week

  1. Have I mentioned how much I love to listen to Sarah talk? Not only is her voice very cute, and very soft (when she's not giggling, screaming and running around and playing with Samantha) but it seems like she's saying new words every day. It's really cute to hear "Hi Mommy" first thing in the morning. It's really a nice way to start my day. Sarah's new game is to jump up and down and count each and every jump. "One...twoooo...threee...five....six.....eeet....niiiiine....TEN!" Now that Sarah is 2, we're now getting into bigger and better things: potty training. Most days, Sarah lets us know when uhh, things are going to happen on the potty. Most days she lets us know before hand, and most days it's already happened in the diaper. Rome wasn't built in a day, and potty training definitely can't be conquered in a day either. In time, she'll get it. It's just nice to know that Sarah has a voice to let us know what's going on :)
  2. Jeremy and I came across one of the best inventions that God could have created: Netflix. Since starting this fantastic fabulous amazing movie service, Jere and I have been able to schedule some movie date nights. It's nice to sit down at the end of a long day and spend time with my hubby.
  3. This past Tuesday marked the 8 year anniversary of my Grandfather's passing. That part isn't what made me smile, but the memories and the photographs that I looked at this past week helped me remember good times in my life. He was a wonderful Grandfather...I hope I have made him proud.
  4. The little things in life make me smile bigger than Jay Leno's car collection. As I've mentioned in some previous posts and some Facebook status messages, I've been cleaning the house, decluttering and making our living space more fresh. More livable. In my cleaning, I found an old, small stereo that I used to use with a CD player. I thought with Christmas coming up, I'd love to listen to Christmas music during the day while the Madore-ables and I are playing. Then I find out that my little radio/CD player doesn't quite work as well as it used to. Speakers sounded full of static. Bummer, right? Nope...enter my husband. He managed to hook up some speakers with a bass box to this little stereo and VOILA! It works! And listening to Josh Groban or Trans Siberian Orchestra or even the radio sounds AMAZING!!
  5. We have completed our family Christmas card for this year...I'm so excited! Our card seems to get better every year. Of course, I cannot show you until they have been mailed out to our family and friends. So, stay tuned!
