Five Things Friday

Five Things That Happened This Past Week That Made Me Smile:

  1. I sold all of my Kindle Fire raffle tickets during the week.  I'm so excited!  So, that means over $1,000 has been donated to my Avon Walk so far in just tickets alone.  This fundraiser has had such a huge success.  The winner will be announced on Sunday, May 13th!  I have one week to go before the BIG walk, and still would love to hit my personal goal.  It's not too late to make a donation though!  You can donate online at my website at www.avonwalk.org/goto/Jennifer.Madore or, if you would like to donate by check, email me at SimNiffer214 at Yahoo dot com and I can give you the details.
  2. Today I'm nervous and excited all at the same time.  Samantha's preschool class will be going on a Kindergarten readiness trip today to The Butterfly Place.  I say "Kindergarten Readiness" trip because the pre-school teacher arranged for all of the students and the parents/chaperones to take the Big Yellow.  Some of the Kindergarten students this Fall will be taking the school bus, so she thought it would be a great idea to get the students used to the bus.  Samantha is SO excited to be going today.  I'm looking forward to some one-on-one time with Sam.  I'm just a little nervous about mass quantities of butterflies all in one place.
  3. Today we see the sunshine for more than 5 minutes in about 4 days.
  4. Jeremy trimmed the Madore-ables bangs last night after their baths.  What a nice surprise to wake up this morning and actually get to see their beautiful eyes!
  5. Samantha made me the most beautiful Mother's Day gift in her class earlier this week.  She pretty much took a coffee filter and colored it with magic markers.  Then afterwards, the teacher's soaked the colored coffee filter with all the colors and made it tie-dyed.  After, they wrapped green pipe-cleaners and made it into a single flower.  I don't know what was more thoughtful, the originality of the idea, or the fact that Samantha had me in mind the entire time she was coloring and colored with all of my favorite colors:  purple, yellow blue and green.  We get so caught up in our everyday activities, and it's so nice to know that my almost  year old was thinking of me.  So sweet and thoughtful.
