Another Great Day

This morning at 9:00, Sarah had her 6 month EI assessment. We had three ladies here to work with Sarah all focusing on different areas: speech, fine/gross motor, cognition, social/emotional & self-care. When Sarah had her last assessment back in April, she was 16 months old. The lowest she scored was 12 months and the highest she scored was 14-15 months old. I am happy to announce that Sarah is now 22 months old and the lowest she scored today was 20 months and the highest was 25 months in her fine motor. What does this all mean? It means that....

SARAH NO LONGER NEEDS WEEKLY EARLY INTERVENTION!

Sarah has made significant growth gains since her last assessment 6 months ago, especially in her speech, gross and fine motor skills. I've been home with her full time and working with her so I've seen the growth, but it's so nice to see and hear others show me how she's grown and what her scores were. It's been very challenging for Jeremy and I for the last almost 2 years working with 1 income. However, receiving the news in September from Boston Children's Hospital and now today, the challenge has been completely worth it.

So, now we just have 2 maybe 3 more sessions and then Sarah will officially be discharged from her EI group. The only thing I'm bummed about is the fabulous Monday morning playgroup that Sarah and I started a month or so ago will no longer be available. However, I may be able to put Sarah and I on a waiting list for another playgroup. We shall see. I'm just glad to hear that our little monkey is doing so well!
