We have a headboard/footboard and rails which we will put together soon, we just wanted to make sure that Sam liked her bed before we put everything together.
Well, I do declare that Samantha LOVES it!
Nanny, the Madore-ables and I had been price shopping around for a great new mattress for Miss Sam for the last month or so, and decided that Monday was going to be the day. So, we drove down and managed to fit a twin size box spring and mattress in the back of Nanny's car. Thankfully we brought two cars. We had help loading everything into the car, including tying the back door/glass down, but the one thing I forgot about until we arrived back home was how is the mattress getting into the house? Well, a half hour later both mattresses were up 2 flights of stairs and in place. Then we ran to Kohl's and Samantha picked out her own new comforter and sheets set. (May I point out that the set which is normally $60.00, with a gift card I received from last Christmas and the forever stash of Kohl's coupons that Mom has, the comforter/sheet set came out to $30.00). My grandmother and mother-in-law would be proud of my bargain.
The Madore-ables have always been great nappers...up until Monday afternoon. I thought it would be a good idea to introduce Samantha to sleeping in her new bed for nap time that way she could be a little more prepared for bedtime Monday night. Well, Samantha wasn't the problem...Sarah decided that she didn't want to nap. I heard giggles and squeals for a full two hours, and nothing from Samantha. So when it was time to head upstairs I was greeted with "Mommy! Sarah kept me awake the entire nap" I was also greeted with a funny sight. Do you remember my post of Morning Mayhem? Well, picture that plus an ENTIRE box of Kleenex tissues on the floor in front of Sarah's crib. It looked like a winter wonderland on the floor. And the entire time I'm picking up all those unused tissues, Sarah is literally cracking up and laughing.
Monday night bedtime went a lot smoother. Samantha tried to make some excuses about how she didn't want to go to bed, but you could tell she was excited about her new bed and her blankets. Tuesday nap time went much much better as did Tuesday night.
I just can't believe that Samantha is old enough for a big girl bed. *Sigh* I'm feeling old now.
