Five Things Friday

5 Things That Have Made Me Smile In the Last Week

  1. One of the big things this past week was officially being told by Pentucket Early Intervention that Sarah no longer needs EI. She's now well enough, and strong enough to not have to continue care.
  2. Last night, I hosted a Pampered Chef party as a kick off for my fundraising for the 2011 Avon Walk for Breast Cancer campaign. It was great to get together with all of my friends, so a great big thank you to Jennifer for being such a wonderful and fun consultant, and thank you to my friends who came to help support such a wonderful cause. As of this morning, I found out that sales for the party so far have totaled over $1000.00, and 15% of the total sales will go towards the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. If there's anybody who would like to place an order, please send me an email at SimNiffer214@yahoo.com.
  3. Sarah's speech has been improving as well. We have found that she's able to say a lot more than she's letting on. Her latest speech accomplishments are saying "please" and "thank you" and using sign language with both words. She's also saying some colors (purple, yellow and blue). And the most exciting part is, Samantha has been singing the alphabet a lot, which in turn gets Sarah to sing too. Sarah is also identifying some letters as well: M, S and even knows E & F, although she gets them confused because they look alike. Either way, we're excited that she's pointing out letters and saying them.
  4. I had a very productive day at my part time job yesterday. It's nice to get out of the house for a few hours and earn some extra money on the side. It feel so strange to be able to sit down and concentrate without any little pitter patter of feet running around every 10 seconds. The four hours just seem to fly by quickly.
  5. Samantha has done VERY well this past week in sleeping in her twin-sized "big girl" bed. We were able to set everything up Monday afternoon in time for nap...although, nap time didn't happen on Monday, but the rest of the week has gone much much better. When I went to go check in on Sam last night before going to bed, Sam had managed to get herself out of bed and fall asleep on the floor with all of her blankets. Silly girl.
