Dear Samantha (40 Month Update)

Dear Samantha,

Today you turn 40 months old. I know every month we say this, but we cannot believe another month has passed us by again. You continue to amaze everybody around you and Mommy & Daddy could not be prouder.

You continue to really put in the effort to helping out: whether it be helping Mommy with dinner or putting laundry away. You've really been a big help and teaching Sarah her letters and numbers. I know one of your favorite songs is the "A-B-C" song which you sing to Sarah all the time. The ironic thing is, I don't think you realize that you're really teaching Sarah because you're having so much fun while singing it. Either way, Sarah is saying some of the letters, so your helping educate your little sister too. You should be very proud of yourself. I know Daddy and I are.
Something else that you've continued to do is say "please" and "thank you" to mostly everything. It's very refreshing to hear that, and whether you know it or not, you've helped Daddy and I teach Sarah to say, and sign please and thank you too.

Another big milestone that you've accomplished in the last few weeks is you are now in a big girl bed. You were excited from the beginning, so the transition was very simple. We're so glad that you enjoy being in your bed. Just remember, it's OK to sleep in the middle of the bed, rather than on the very edge. I cannot tell you how many times we found you sleeping on the floor when we come in to check on you when we go to bed. Ha ha. As a result of you sleeping in a big girl bed, you've slept overnight at Nanny's house a few times too. I myself used to enjoy sleeping over my grandparents houses when I was your age so I hope you do too! Grandparent sleepovers are always fun.
Remember that Daddy and I love you so very much. Never doubt that for a moment. Thank you for all that you do to help Mommy and Daddy. Thank you for all of your many random hugs and kisses and "I love you's" during the day. We truly have been blessed to have you as part of our family...we wouldn't be complete without you.
Love you always and forever,
Mommy & Daddy
