Today you turn 42 months old, which means you are exactly 3 1/2 years old today! You're halfway to your next birthday. It's been a few months since Mommy has written a monthly update for you, and so much has been going on in the last few months.
You've been really progressing on writing not only your name, but all of your letters. You made some beautiful Birthday cards and were able to write "Happy Birthday" on them (with a little coaching of course), but you were able to write down the letter. It's so great to see you writing your name too wether it be with crayons or with with sidewalk chalk in the driveway. I think your sister has also been helping you quite a bit too which will come in very handy this Fall when you attend your first year of pre-school! It'll just be 2 days a week, but Daddy and I know you're a socialble girl and would love the interaction with the other boys and girls.
Now that you're able to recognize numbers, one of your favorite pasttimes is playing the card game "Uno". You do very well and need very limited supervision now. I can't tell you how many times you've used all of your cards and won the game! One of your other favorite pasttimes is watching the Despicible Me "Banana" video. It doesn't matter how many times you watch it in a day, you still act as if you've watched it for the first time. Laughing and giggling the entire time. It's really cute to watch you. (In fact, Mommy did do a blog on it recently...). You also enjoy riding your tricycle and blowing bubbles too. You LOVE animals of all kinds, especially dogs and cats. It doesn't matter how big the dog is, you'll go right up to the owner and ask "Can I pat the dog?". You're fearless!
You've taken a HUGE liking to "Knock knock" jokes too. Granted, you don't quite understand the punch lines, but it is quite funny to listen to you crack up over "Knock knock (who's there?) Chickadee (Chickadee who?) Chickadee knock knock!"
Just like your big sister Samantha, you love having your toe nails painted, along with wearing small amounts of makeup to church. (And when Mommy says "small amount" I really mean a dusting of powder on the nose and a little lipstick). Mommy can never paint her nails unless I paint your toes first. Your favorite color these days is neon hot pink!
Something Daddy and I have noticed lately is how big and how genuine your hugs and your kisses are. You have to hug us "just right" before you go to bed. You give Mommy big hugs before Mommy leaves for work in the afternoon. It really makes Daddy, Sammy and I feel really really loved!
You have grown up so much these last few months. It's really awesome to look back and see how much you've progressed. Daddy and I love you so very much, always remember that! God knew we needed you even when we didn't know about you, but since you've arrived and have been a part of our family, we wouldn't have it any other way. You certainly complete our day with your beautiful smile. Thank you for challenging Daddy and I to good role models for you. You remind us everyday and for that we're so grateful.
