- Today is the first day of the month which means a fresh pair of contact lenses. Need I say more? ; )
- Last month at church, the Pregnancy Care center dropped off some empty plastic baby bottles and encouraged the parishoners to fill the bottles with spare change and return the bottles by Father's Day weekend. As I have mentioned in a previous post, Jeremy and I decided that a great way to reward our Madore-ables is we decided to set up what we call a "penny pail". For each time the girls do something super nice (i.e - share toys without being asked, or sacrificing a favorite lollipop flavor so that the other sister can have it without being asked) Jere and I dump some pennies or nickels into the bucket. Each time they fill the bucket, they get to do a fun activity because they've worked hard and earned it. Well, this last batch of nickels/pennies automatically went into the plastic baby bottles for the Pregnancy Care center. Even though they are only almost 5 and 3 1/2 years old, Jeremy and I feel that it's very important to show the girls at a young age the gift of giving. We have explained to the girls that not all mothers are blessed with going to the changing table to get a diaper for their baby. Sometimes they just don't have the money to provide. So, if we have the means to do so, we can share with those who don't. It's a good feeling to watch the girls get excited about it.
- Jeremy found a great deal on a 17-55mm camera lens. So excited to play with it once these rainy days pass us by.
- Everyone has been talking about Groupon. I was recently introduced to Boston's Big Deals (which is essentially the same as Groupon, but more streamlined to places and events in the Boston area) but never had the opportunity to take advantage of it...until this morning. My Grandfather recently passed away this past April. He served 8 years in the Navy, and 4 of those years he served on the USS Massachusetts that is now de-commissioned in Fall River, Massachusetts. My parents took me when I was very young to see the ship, but I barely remember it. So, I was able to snag a $50.00 gift certificate for only $25.00. Don't know when we'll be going, but it'll be sometime this Summer. I can't wait to show the Madore-ables just how Grampy Cliff lived for his 4 years on the ship. I'm sure we'll get some amazing and fun photos :)
- Monday night, Jeremy signed us up to volunteer at a soup kitchen in Haverhill. We thought that this would be a great way for us to give to those who are less fortunate than us, plus show the girls how easy it is to be kind to people.
