Five Things Friday

5 Things That Have Made Me Smile In the Last Week

  1. One of Samantha's toys hasn't been able to work for the past few nights due to the fact that the batteries died. So, I went out on a quick errand Thursday night and remembered to pick some new batteries. So yesterday morning, I left them on Sam's chair for her to find when she sat down for breakfast. You should have heard her reaction: "MOMMY! LOOK! New Batteries for my Scout!" She kept saying "Thank you for my batteries Mommy throughout the day too". I love it when she gets excited over the little things.

  2. Jeremy came home from work on Wednesday night and surprised me and went grocery shopping for me. I already had a list going, so he grabbed it before he left and did a fantastic job. It's those little things that make me smile. Thanks baby :)

  3. Sarah has been doing an amazing job at trying to communicate. She's expanding her vocabulary every few days or so, but the Early Intervention group showed us a few words in baby sign language which have worked spendidly tremendously. Yesterday morning when I asked Sarah what she wanted to eat, she pointed to the box of dry cereal and said she wanted a "Buh buh buh" (or "Banana"). We're encouraging Sarah to say what she needs and wants and she's doing a great job.

  4. Earlier in the week, my Mom and I took the girls to Wendy's for lunch. It doesn't happen often, but once in awhile it's a nice treat. (Besides, I love their Apple Pecan Salad...YUM!). So, while we're sitting eating our lunch, the manager of the particular Wendy's location had music on the intercom with happened to be 90's music (which I have to admit is awesome). So, U2's "The Sweetest Thing" came on, and after 30 seconds of the song playing, Samantha looks at me and says, "Hey! This is the sweetest thing!" (I should mention that this song came on the radio while we were in the car at a previous time, and when Sam asked me what the song was, and who sang it, I told her. I never dreamed she would remember it!)

  5. This coming weekend, Sunday to be specific, Jeremy, the Madore-ables and I are heading down to Cape Cod...providing Hurricane Earl doesn't change our plans for us. Right now, the forecast looks like Earl is going to hit the Cape Saturday. The rest of the weekend looks sunny, and in the 70's. YEE HAW! It's been a long time since I've been to the Cape, so I'm looking forward to spending it with some of my favorite people. So stay away Earl! We don't need your torrential downpours or winds.
