Oh The Funny Things Kids Will Say

Samantha has been potty trained since she was 20 months old. Surprisingly, potty training Sam was so easy. I heard so many nightmare stories about parents and potty training their children. We were very fortunate to have Sam potty trained in a solid week. It was a great milestone not only for Samantha, but for me in the parental department :)

So, on any normal day at the Madore-able house, Samantha tells me she needs to use the potty and runs into the bathroom. Lately, Jeremy and I have been trying to give Samantha a little teeny bit of independence especially when in the bathroom. She's been doing really well on using the toilet and washing her hands in the sink after using the toilet too. "Auntie" Molly made sink time and tub time fun with lots of cool fun colored soaps so that has definitely helped.

Lots of fun and random conversation also takes place in the bathroom. Sam and I talk about everything: from singing ABC's, to talking about what we're going to have for lunch. So it wasn't unusual that Sam and I had the following conversation:

Samantha: Mommy, I'm all done!

Me: Ok Sam. Here I come.

(in the meantime Sam slips and almost falls into the toilet, but luckily catches herself).

Me: Are you ok Sam?

Samantha: I'm ok Mommy. Someday when I'm a really big girl, my bum will be big enough so I can fit on the toilet seat.

Yup...that's my girl!
