Labor Day 2010 - End Of Summer, A Weekend Of Fun!

This past weekend, Jeremy and I packed up the Madore-ables and drove the 1 hour 30 minute drive down to Wareham, Massachusetts to celebrate the "unofficial official end of Summer". We were able to spend from Sunday through Tuesday afternoon in nothing but amazing, sunny, warm weather. We were very nervous with Hurricane Earl and all, but by the time we got down to Wareham, it was as if nothing happened.

We were able to do some real relaxing, even if the Madore-ables don't quite have that word in their vocabulary. We spent a lot time at the beach (that was literally just a short walk down the street), eating, picnicking, walking along the Cape Cod Canal, eating...and did I mention eating? It was just nice to get away for a few days and have a great time. No thoughts about the craziness at home; no thoughts about cell phones/Facebook/technology; just 100% fun with my family.

I learned and was reminded of several things while we were in Wareham:
  1. When someone else makes food while on vacation, it always tastes just like heaven.
  2. It's amazing to see just how many times the Madore-ables smile at the most simple of things.
  3. Toys from the dollar store, or the dollar section at Target make the most amazing, fun times especially in the car.
  4. Fresh air + no naps = equal bed time for the Madore-ables.
  5. Family is an amazing gift...especially with those who I spent time with this weekend. :)
  6. You can really see the stars down on the Cape.
  7. We found out that Samantha is ready for a "big girl" bed.
  8. I always over pack.
  9. I absolutely love sunblock and bug spray.

There are too many photos to upload onto this entry, so I'm just going to upload my personal favorites:
